The Operations Specialist has a mandate to ensure that A&W restaurants are operated to industry-leading standards and that the delivery of the guest experience is a competitive strength for the A&W brand. A key responsibility for the Operations Specialist is to support new restaurant openings and to help achieve outstanding results through operational and service excellence. The Operations Specialist reports to the Business Manager, Multi-Unit and works closely with Business Managers, franchisees, and restaurant managers to foster and sustain restaurant success. A coach and advisor, the Operations Specialist partners with A&W restaurant operators to help them improve their management skills so that A&W restaurants achieve and sustain operational excellence and superior results for sales growth, profitability, and guest satisfaction. The Operations Specialist also works with representatives of A&Wís corporate Marketing, Real Estate and Franchising teams. Based in a home office in a major city in Alberta, this dynamic career-track role involves up to 50% overnight travel in Alberta, BC, and Saskatchewan as well as other areas of Canada, as required.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and excellent influencer who can wisely juggle multiple priorities and thrive in an engaging role that involves business travel. The candidate must have a strong drive for results, high integrity, a solutions-oriented mindset and superb judgment. The candidate must have a passion for business, operations and customer service. The candidate must possess excellent analytical, interpersonal, time management and communication skills. A team player and collaborative professional, the candidate must possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferably, the candidate has had at least 2 years of operations experience in the hospitality or retail sectors and has been involved in restaurant or new store openings. The candidate must have a post-secondary degree in Commerce or Business, a valid driverís license and the ability and willingness to travel. With a long-term view to success, the ideal candidate is a curious risk taker who is open to relocating to other parts of Canada to take on more senior management roles when such opportunities arise.
